Let's Go Niners!

Yesterday in honor of the San Francisco 49ers playing in the championship game I did my nails to show my loyalty. For the pinky, pointer and thumb I used Wet n Wild's Red Red and sponged the tips with Ebony Hates Chris. For the middle and ring fingers I used Nicole by OPI's Disco Dolls. For the ring finger I used my Kiss finger paint nail polish to paint on the SF and for the middle finger I used my Sally Hansen nail art pen in white. For my other three fingers I used the nail art pen as well to write with.

I absolutely love these nails and I love the Niners! Did anyone else see that game yesterday?? Such a nail bitter. Here's a little fun fact about myself - I went to high school with Colin Kaepernick, the Niners QB, he's a year older than me and hung out in my group of friends. Pretty cool, huh?

Back to polish, I haven't bought any polish lately, and by lately I mean like a week or two :) I was at the store getting medicine the other day, when I noticed that the Nicole by OPI was still 50% off so I bought two more bottles. On the left is a texture polish in black and the right is My Empire... My Rules.

Here's a swatch of My Empire... My Rules, unfortunately this is the only polish that I've gotten to swatch.

I also picked up a polish from Revlon's new line of Moon Candy, this one is called Galactic and I can't wait to try it.

Here are three more polishes I swooped up at TJ Maxx, the brand is called Material Girl, which I've never heard of, but the bottle was pretty cute as were the colors. A review of the polishes and the brand will be coming some time this week (I hope).

Last ones I swear... for this post :) and I didn't get these all in the same day. These are two different shades of green by Sinful Colors, the left one is called Beau Khaki and the right is San Francisco. Now I must admit that I wouldn't have bought San Francisco if it wasn't for Alex, he forced me to buy it because he loved the name so much. We will see how it looks on..

Hope everyone had a great start to their work week!

HJCC: We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Tonight is the final day for the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge and tonight's theme is We Wish You a Merry Christmas! I am so happy to to have participated in such a fun and festive challenge. It was definitely a great first challenge to be involved in.

For this challenge on all my nails I used Nicole by OPIs Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam, then on my ring and pointer finger I used Julep's Vivien gold glitter polish. On my pinky and thumb I used my gold striper polish to make it look like a present once they dried a little bit more I added a red rhinestone bow. Then on my middle finger I used my dotting tool to create a Christmas tree, I used Sinful Colors Gogo Girl. I also took a little star glitter I had from one of my rhinestone wheels and used that as my tree topper. Here's how they turned out:

Please pardon the dry cuticles, I couldn't find my cuticle oil.

I had a great time doing these and was pretty impressed with my free hand skills, clearly I'm not as good as some of these amazing ladies in the nail blogging world, but practice makes perfect. Be sure to check out how the other amazing ladies in the challenge did.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and got to spend time with their loved ones.

HJCC: Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy Birthday to my wonderful and beautiful mom!

These nails were due the 24th so I'm 45 minutes late, not too bad, right? :( The theme for these was Santa Claus is Coming to Town. For the base I used Sinful Colors Gogo Girl, I've used this polish in the past and love it, it goes on great and it is such a perfect red. Once those dried I used my black striper polish for the belt and a gold striper polish for the buckle. They aren't super Christmas-y, but I like how they turned out.

I hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and enjoys the day with friends and family!

Check out how the other girls nails participating in the challenge turned out:

HJCC - Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let it Snow

Hey readers,

A day late and a dollar short I guess, my sincerest apologies!

So let's just get right to it! For this weeks challenge the them was Let It Snow. I used two coats of Sinful Colors Midnight Blue, then on my ring finger I painted on a coat of Nail Junkie. Once all my nails dried I used Nail Art Stamping Image Plate QA19 and my white stamping polish. On all my other nails I used my doting tool and the white stamping polish and made it look like snow on all my nails.

Here's how it turned out:

I have to say I was so so so excited for this challenge and thought wow this one is going to be super easy! Uh if anything to me I feel like it was a total flop, I'm not 100% thrilled with how they turned out at all. I tried stamping these cute little snowflakes that were on my stamping plates that I most recently got and for the life of me I couldn't get the images to transfer! Any tips or tricks anyone would like to share, I'm lucky if I just get one image to transfer. I get so jealous of all you other ladies who do such gorgeous stamping... I guess I need more practice, I don't know?

I also got quite a bit of nail mail over the weekend and while I was out sick that I will be posting about tomorrow if time permits.

I'd love to hear your thoughts as to how my nails turned out, please feel free to comment!

Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!

Sinful Colors' Cinderella

So for tonight's nails I just did a simple nail polish as we are booked out with details until Monday, which means my nails are going to take a beating. :( Maybe tomorrow night I'll try my new gel starter kit; might help protect my real nails a little bit better as the chemicals we work with really damage and dry out my nails/hands. Anyways onto the nails...

For tonight's nails I did Sinful Colors Cinderella, and I am in LOVE with it. It's such a pretty subtle blue, almost periwinkle and has gorgeous little glitter flecks in it that almost make the polish a holo (almost). It was very hard for me to capture the hints of glitter, but I think I got some good shots, take a look:

I am in love with this color and am thinking of using it for Monday's Challenge... thoughts are going around in my head... The application was pretty smooth, it went on great, so it had great coverage. The first coat I did was a little sheer so I did end up doing three coats then a coat of SV. Two coats would have been fine, but I wanted it a touch darker. Overall, love the formula and the color!

Hope everyone had a happy hump day and it's almost the weekend... HOORAY!!

From the Vault

Tonight's post is from the vault as right now I am currently sitting in the hospital next to grandpa.

This is a pedicure I did a couple months ago. In it I used Sally Hansen's Wet Cement, Sinful Colors Summer Peach, and Sinful Colors Neon Melon. First, I painted all my toes with Wet Cement, once those were completely dry I taped different angles off and painted with either Summer Peach or Neon Melon. Here's how it turned out:

I absolutely loved how this pedicure turned out and am thinking of doing a more winter/fall version of it.

I also meant to share this picture with you guys last night, but totally forgot. It's a picture of Alex, Kali, and I on Thanksgiving:

Happy Holidays!!

Hope everyone had a great Monday!!

PS - I recently change my blog page and wanted some feedback from readers. Is it to hard to read the right and left columns due to the black bow? Should I consider changing it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated :)
