Spring into Stripes

So I know that it's not officially spring yet, but it's beginning to feel a lot like it so I went ahead and did a spring mani. For my base I used OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

Then once my nails dried I used my Scotch tape and taped off the bottom part of my nail where I wanted my first stripe to be. For my first stripe I used NYC's Times Square Tangerine Creme. Now I must say that I did the LONG version of this. I did my stripes one by one on each nail first before I moved onto the next stripe. So be warned that this can be very time consuming! Here's how it looked after my first stripe was done:

For my next stripe I used Essie's Mezmerised and made this stripe a little bit thicker. Here's how that looked:

Then finally I did my last stripe using NYC's Times Square again. I made this one a little bit thinner. Here is the final result with my Seche Vite on:

Here is where my inspiration from this manicure came from. A cute little racer back blouse :)

I also wanted to share with you my latest pedicure I did. At the moment I do not have the nail polish names on me so I will be sure to get those and update my post once I do. I thought they were just cute and fun and summer-y because Lord knows I cannot wait for summer!!!!

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!

I'm Baaaaack!!

I'm finally back to blogging again! It has been entirely too long and I have seriously missed it!

For today's post I have a couple of different looks for you as well as a mani and pedi. First, the mani, I used OPI's San Tan-Tonio as the base color. Once that dried I took black rhinestones and lined them down the middle of each finger. Here's how they turned out:

This mani was so simple and fast and I absolutely love it! Alex and I were going out with a couple of friends that night and I wanted to have something on my nails that was a little more fancy than I normally do. I think it went perfectly with my outfit and I literally did them in less than an hour!

Next we have a pedi that I did a few weeks ago for Valentine's Day. For my base I used Confetti's First Kiss ( which I found to be totally appropriate for V-day). I then used clear rhinestones and made a half moon shape with them on both my big toes and then on the rest I did a single rhinestone on the base and in the middle. Here is how those turned out:

I really liked this pedicure because it was simple yet classy and of course I loved the little bling it added!

Next I have a couple different outfit looks that I put together and wanted to share.

For the first look I paired skinny jeans with a white tank top and a black fitted blazer over that. To add a little extra something I added my leopard print infinity scarf as well as my leopard flats. For the accessories I paired the outfit with my gold watch as well as a few different bracelets in the same color family to match the outfit - so blacks, golds, & even some brown.

I love this look for a day at the office or even for going out shopping with your girls. It's simple to put together and very comfortable. A blazer over any t-shirt helps to put an outfit together without any effort.

My next look is very similar, just spiced up a bit with some wedges. For this outfit I wore skinnies again and rolled the bottoms, then wore a loose fitting racer back blouse. Over my blouse I wore a brown loose fitting sweater and to finish it off used another leopard print scarf. For my shoes I chose a camel brown wedge that helped add a pop of color with the yellow around the trim of the shoe.

I really liked this outfit, but next time think I would pair it was a brown leather jacket and also use a scarf that had more color in it, maybe even yellow to help the shoes to pop a little bit more. Overall, I did like the outfit, but would make a few tweaks.

For tomorrow's post I will be posting a review of a couple different make up companies that I use and also possibly a makeup tutorial if time permits.

Hope everyone had a fabulous Tuesday and it feels great to be back!

Let's Go Niners!

Yesterday in honor of the San Francisco 49ers playing in the championship game I did my nails to show my loyalty. For the pinky, pointer and thumb I used Wet n Wild's Red Red and sponged the tips with Ebony Hates Chris. For the middle and ring fingers I used Nicole by OPI's Disco Dolls. For the ring finger I used my Kiss finger paint nail polish to paint on the SF and for the middle finger I used my Sally Hansen nail art pen in white. For my other three fingers I used the nail art pen as well to write with.

I absolutely love these nails and I love the Niners! Did anyone else see that game yesterday?? Such a nail bitter. Here's a little fun fact about myself - I went to high school with Colin Kaepernick, the Niners QB, he's a year older than me and hung out in my group of friends. Pretty cool, huh?

Back to polish, I haven't bought any polish lately, and by lately I mean like a week or two :) I was at the store getting medicine the other day, when I noticed that the Nicole by OPI was still 50% off so I bought two more bottles. On the left is a texture polish in black and the right is My Empire... My Rules.

Here's a swatch of My Empire... My Rules, unfortunately this is the only polish that I've gotten to swatch.

I also picked up a polish from Revlon's new line of Moon Candy, this one is called Galactic and I can't wait to try it.

Here are three more polishes I swooped up at TJ Maxx, the brand is called Material Girl, which I've never heard of, but the bottle was pretty cute as were the colors. A review of the polishes and the brand will be coming some time this week (I hope).

Last ones I swear... for this post :) and I didn't get these all in the same day. These are two different shades of green by Sinful Colors, the left one is called Beau Khaki and the right is San Francisco. Now I must admit that I wouldn't have bought San Francisco if it wasn't for Alex, he forced me to buy it because he loved the name so much. We will see how it looks on..

Hope everyone had a great start to their work week!

New Years Eve Nails

So yesterday I finally got my last item of my order from Amazon. It was ten spools of nail ribbon all of which were different colors. This was the item that I was the most excited for and of course it was the last to arrive! I can't wait to use them though! Here's a picture of them:

For today's nails I decided to use a color I have never used before, WHITE! Crazy to think that I've never used it, but I've always steered away from it because I thought that it showed too many imperfections. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the result, the polish went on smooth and didn't show any bubbles or bumps like I thought it would. For my white I used Sally Hansen's White On.

Once White On had dried completely I used Elf's Gold Star, which has large hexagonal glitters as well as some small glitter mixed in. I was going to sponge it on, but then just decided against it and dabbed it on all the tips of my nails. I absolutely love how they turned out! They're fun and perfect for a New Years party.

I also was in need of some nail necessities, such as acetone and cuticle oil, so I went to the beauty supply store and came back with quite the lot.

Acting is Living, Twinkling Glitter, Studded Holiday Surprise, Down the Chimney

DS Reserve, My Boyfriend Scales Walls

Angel Wings, Peace on Earth, Elephant Walk, Glitter All the Way

OPI Cuticle Oil & OPI Nail Envy

I just want to say that I am so excited for the new year to come! This past year has been a very tough one, not only for me, but for so many others in the world. I cannot wait to put it behind me and to see what 2013 has to offer. I hope everyone has a good and safe New Year!

Smile for the Glam-Era! and Some Accessories

I have been so busy with the holidays lately that I just haven't had time to post and I am so sorry for that. As promised, a couple days late, here are the pictures of the Nicole by OPI nail polishes I purchased the other day.

Yesterday I had the chance to try out another one of these four amazing polishes. Here is how Smile For The Glam-Era!

I have to say that while this polish is gorgeous on and I love the little flecks of glitter in it, the formula was awful. It would dry as I was putting the second stripe of polish on, then would start clumping up. You had to work pretty quickly and add a little more polish to the brush in order to get it to go on smoothly. Thank goodness I had my boyfriends amazing cousin, who is a manicurist, doing them for me! Like I said though, this is a gorgeous deep burgundy and I love how they turned out!

I also wanted to share with you another passion of mine, which is making jewelry. Here are few of many different bracelets I've made and sold. Hope you like them :)
