As Promised - Smokey Eye Tutorial

Happy Sunday Funday everyone!

As I promised last night I re-did my smokey eye tutorial. So here it is with a twist! I cannot for the life of me get the video uploader on Blogger to work so thank goodness as I was doing the video tutorial I took pictures. So what I have for you in the mean time is a picture tutorial. Please comment or email me with any questions you have @ bkoch134@gmail.com

I'm not the most impressed with how this picture tutorial came out so please do not judge, I'm totally working on getting this video uploaded as fast as I possibly can! So just cross your fingers with me and hopefully I can get it uploaded tonight.

I've also updated my mani as promised! See I keep my promises... sometimes! ;)

For this mani I kept everything the same except my two ring fingers. I took the white dots off and did another layer of black. Before it dried I added bow rhinestones. Here's how they turned out:

Please excuse the lack of clean-up, it's been a busy day :)

Today I ran to TJ Maxx really quick as I wanted to see if they had any Essie nail polishes, unfortunately they didn't.... but I did find this amazingly cute tops.

Peplum top with lace, only $14.99!

I'm only posting this angle because it really lets you see the lace

This little polka dot was only $9.99, I can't wait to pair it with a blazer!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend and has a great week! Hopefully I'll have an updated post tonight with the video :)

Polka Dot, Polka Dot, Polka Dot

Hey everyone, I've been down with the flu hence my absence the past couple days.

For today's post my inspiration was mainly just the fact that I wanted to play around with my MASH dotting tools. I did a black and white mani and added polka dots on top of it. I really wanted to add a pink bow to my ring finger, but pooped out. Hopefully I can do it tomorrow and add some pictures.

For this mani I used two coats of Essie's marshmallow for the white and two coats of Wet N Wild's Ebony Hates Chris. I then added a coat of Seche Vite and let my nails dry, after they were dry I did black dots on the white nails and white dots on the black nots. As I said I used my MASH dotting tools for the dots. It was my first time using them on a full mani and I loved them, it made it so much easier.

The finished product

I still have yet to figure out how to upload my make up tutorial from my iPad so I think I'm going to have to redo it. If I'm filling up to it tomorrow I promise to post a make up and hair tutorial.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing weekend! :)

Very Frustrated Right Now!

I'm so upset right now! I did this awesome makeup video for you guys today on my iPad and for some reason it won't upload!!! I've tried everything and it won't work. Any tips, anyone!?!

Thank goodness I did a manicure today and have a back up post or else I would be even more upset. This manicure is OPI's My Private Jet and it is absolutely GORGEOUS! It is an espresso brown with small glitter flecks in it. I don't even know how else to describe it, I am just in love with it so much. I wonder how it would look with in matte? Might have to try it next time.... Anyways here are the pics:

I did manage to snap a few photos when I was finished with my smokey eye tutorial so here are some pictures as well. Hopefully tomorrow when I have more time I can try to get the video uploaded, if not I will just have to re-create it :)

Hope everyone had a great day and tomorrow's Thursday!! YAY!

Bracelets are the Perfect Accessory!

Happy Election Day America! Hope everyone went out and voted!

Today's post is going to be about my favorite accessory, BRACELETS! I am loving all the pins on Pinterest where people are layering their bracelets and playing with different colors. I've always been one against gold accessories, now I find myself constantly going for my gold watch and gold bracelets. I don't know what it is, but there is something simply classy about a nice gold watch and some bracelets.

Here's a few pictures of how I like to accessorize with bracelets:

Here's a couple of my favorite staple pieces:
I picked up this beauty on Hautelook.com

I got this at a local shop, the company is called Good Works
Make a Difference, www.GoodWorksMakeaDifference.com,
they are an awesome company!

This gorgeous bracelt was given to me by my mom and dad for
for my birthday this past year. These bracelets are also made locally
and the lady hand makes all of them. They are simply gorgeous.

Sorry to keep it short again, but its been another long day, between working on our business and working in the orchard today I am beat!

Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!

Champagne Kisses

This is going to be a really quick short post as today was a busy day and I'm exhausted!

I joined Julep's Become a Maven earlier last week and my package came in today! I was so excited, more nail mail! :)

Here is what came in my first Julep nail mail:

It came packaged so cute and I'm so excited to try the glitter pots and the nail polishes. I've already tried the cuticle oil and that stuff is Ah-mazing! Already addicted!

Today I had to go to the doctor's office so afterwards I decided to run to Big Lots because I was looking for some sort of organizational storage for all my nail supplies. I found this little beautyfor only $25:

It's perfect and holds all my nail polishes, tools, remover, stamping plates, etc in one place! I've already organized it by brand and between each brand it is color coordinated. Can you say OCD??

I decided to add some bling to last nights mani as it was pretty bland. Here is how it turned out:

This is one coat of China Glaze's Champagne Kisses over two coats of Venique's Full-On Brogue with no top coat. I am absolutely in L-O-V-E with this polish. The glitter is just gourgeous and there is so much depth to it. I feel like it is the perfect polish to add to any manicure, whether you do a full on glitter bomb, which is what I did, or just add a little glitter to the tips of you nails. Its just simply gorgeous!

Anyways off to bed to try to de-stress from the day. Hope everyone had a great start to their week!

First Nail Mail Post

I'm already off to a bad start as I have been MIA on my blog the past two days. My apologies, but I promise I have some great pictures for you as I got my first nail mail on Friday. I also went to the beauty supply store with my boyfriends cousin today and picked up a ton of nail polish.

WARNING: post is pic heavy!

Before I get to the pictures I need to tell you about this amazing site I discovered about a year ago. It's called Hautelook.com and it is Ah-mazing! It is a Nordstrom Company and is a members-only shopping website that offers limited-time sale events with top brands in women's and men's fashion, jewelry and accessories. I have gotten soo many great finds on that website, most recently this little beauty that came in Friday along with my nail mail.

Onto my nail mail.

I ordered Mash's stamping plates 26-50, the stamper and scrape, a set of 5 dotting tools, and 12 color round nail art rhinestones. Here is a pic of my purchase:

Friday night I decided to play a little with the stamping plates and I must say for such a simple thing it was very hard and frustrating!! Either my stamp wouldn't fully transfer of there would be a ton of excess polish and the stamp would turn out awful. I got very frustrated and gave up. I took a couple of pictures, but am refusing the post them as they are very imbarrassing and I'm sure a small child could do a better job than I did. On Thursday night I convinced Alex to come with me to CVS for a nail polish run and picked up 8 nail polishes as they were having a sale. Here's what I picked up:

Left to right - Rain Check, SaGreena the Teenage Witch, New Years Kiss, Sparkles, & Gray's Anatomy

Left to right - Black MambaTazmanian Devil, & Permission to Proceed

Here's a mani I did last night with Spoiled's Black Mamba and two coats of Confetti Tazmanian Devil:

Please excuse the chipped nails as this was taken tonight :)

Now onto today's score!! I was so excited because I got to go to the beauty supply store and get OPI, China Glaze, and other pricey polishes for a lot less! Here's my lot I brought home :)

Venique - Platinum Pointies, Hurray Huarache, Full-On Brogue, Wrapped in Jewels, Spike-It!, Peep Toe Shoe

China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise, Winter Holly, Thataway, Champagne Kisses

OPI - DS Magic, DS Bold, Goldeneye

For tonight's manicure I really wanted to try out Venique as I had never heard of the brand and wanted to see if the polishes went on nice. I chose Full-On Brogue and I'm so happy I did! It went on so nicely and the color is just gorgeous, I especially love it for fall.

Check it out:

I'm off to go get ready for Revenge! If anyone has any tips for stamping I am all ears! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Black Mama's Ice Queen

Happy Thursday and yay for Friday!

So I've been reading other women's nail blogs for quite some time and am totally feeling out of my element. I am in no way a professional and some of these women claim they're not, but some of the art work they do is INSANE! Hopefully as my blogging journey continues we will see progress in my abilities and hopefully I'll look just as 'professional' as they do one day...

Onto today's mani.

Today I tried using the make up wedge technique for applying glitter and man did I love it! It was so much easier to place which glitters you wanted. First, I did two coats of Spoiled's Black Mamba then once that dried I applied Sally Hansen's Ice Queen on the tips of all my nails and finished it off with Seche Vite. I chose this glitter because it had really pretty chunks of blue and light pink glitter in it, unfortunately the pink glitter didn't show up as well as I would have liked in my pictures. So without further ado here are the pictures:

The pictures really don't do this mani justice. Spoiled's Black Mama is a really pretty gunmetal grey with silver glitter and Ice Queen is a really pretty glitter that I just couldn't seem to capture... Anyone have any tips or tricks for picture taking?

Now time to watch the CMA awards! Isn't Carrie just gorgeous?! So jealous of her legs!
